James Suckling Top 100 Wines of Australia 2025 - Sangiovese Shines

It’s back-to-back inclusions in the James Suckling Top 100 Wines of Australia with the 2021 Sangiovese placing #44 in this auspicious list. Fresh off the inclusion of the 2021 Grazia at #68 in last year’s list, to have a second wine from this exceptional vintage included is a feat to celebrate. From 21 year old vines and made in the inaugural vintage in the new winery, the control over temperatures and timing has taken our winemaking up a notch. We're grateful to all who have accompanied & supported us on the journey and to Associate Editor Ryan Montgomery for his thoughtful reviews.

2021 Sangiovese – 95 Points
‘Perfumed and lifted, with aromas of red & black cherries, damson plums, violets, red apple skins, lilacs and lead pencil. The palate is plush and rounded with a fine line of acidity and firmly framed and refined tannins. Delicious and varietal, showing plenty of floral lift and perfume, with a Tuscan touch. High-toned, with a subtle Negroni-like edge.’
