The Winery
Vinea Marson’s wines are made in a state-of-the-art winemaking facility overlooking the estate vineyards.
Constructed in 2020 & inaugurated in the 2021 vintage, the cavernous corrugated iron shed is in keeping with the distinctly Australian landscape surrounding it, belying the modern technology employed inside to process up to 150 tonnes per annum.
With a deft hand & balance of experience and ambition, winemakers Mario & Madeleine Marson’s philosophy is one of low intervention, letting both the terroir & fruit speak for themselves.
We ensure that fruit from the vineyard is handled gently throughout the winemaking process. Dictated by seasonal conditions, we pay respect to tradition whilst pushing boundaries with innovative practices such as skin contact & carbonic maceration, with wild fermentation employed for all wines.
An abundance of stainless-steel tanks mean wines are pressed only when the conditions are optimum, for our Italian varietals this can mean a period of post-ferment maceration up to 90 days. French and Slovakian oak are employed throughout the ageing process, with large format puncheons & bottle preferred for Nebbiolo & Sangiovese.
