2019 Shiraz Viognier

With 5% viognier added at the crusher, this medium-bodied co-fermentation is a broody expression of shiraz, with notes of brambly undergrowth, earth, blackcurrents and olive tapenade on the nose.

The complexity continues on the palate, albeit on with a slightly darker fruit profile, possessing a core of sweet berry fruits alongside alluring aniseed, spicy oak and a pleasant lick of vanilla. A mouth coating and long finish make this wine a wonderful accompaniment to roast meat dishes. 

FOOD MATCH 

The most weighty of our Heathcote reds, the Shiraz Viognier sings when accompanying a roast lamb with rosemary or a hearty steak. 

CELLARING 

As with all of Vinea Marson’s reds, the cellaring potential is lengthy and the Shiraz Viognier can be enjoyed now or for over 10 years.
